Wednesday was field day at Maryville Elementary School. 3rd-5th grade competed against each class in the same grade. Each team had different color t-shirts. Team Sutton wore orange. Ms. Sutton had t-shirts made for her class.
Savannah competed in several events. But here is her shining moment as the "5th Grade Hula Hoop Champion".
She competed against 9 other 5th graders.
They first started just hula-hooping.
Next they had to put their hands on their heads.
Now feet together.
Now start jumping. Savannah out lasted everyone. She kept going while they all starting chanting "Savannah, Savannah". Next they had her start walking which she did and they finally had to stop her.
My favorite moment was when it was over, she ran to me with the biggest smile and she tells me "Thank you" for coming.

They had a concession stand were they could buy popsicles & pickles. What a combination!! Savannah & Kathleen.

They even had tug-a-war competitions. 1st each grade competed against each other. Round 1 Team Sutton vs. Team Pope

This was my 1st field day. Since this is Savannah's last year at Maryville and she is my youngest child, I asked to come into work late to enjoy this with her. I'm so glad I did.
And one more thing, Brandon informed me he was also the hula hoop champion when he was in 5th grade.
